My partner and I stayed for a weekend in the small apartment fronting the beach road – five steps from the beach – our friends visited for a day and we all liked it so much we booked the larger cottage for a group stay a couple of weekends later. Great location, historic fishermen’s cottages lovingly maintained in their original condition.

My first thought when I walked in was “wow”! I couldn’t get over how lovely and charming it was. The view over the bay is amazing, its literally 3 short steps from the beach. The place reminds me of an old English railway station house or signal box, its all wood, painted green and white with dark stained wood floors. Its old but absolutely spotless, the owner was born here and really cares! The view is even good after dark, all the lights twinkling from the boats and hillside houses. Very good value for money too. It reminded us of the beach place in the film Betty Blue.

If you love the sea in all its different moods, and a quiet holiday to get-away-from-it-all, this is the place for you. The large glass windows stretching all the way across the gallery are beyond compare and allow a beautiful sea-view and mountains even from the kitchen. Pirate’s Bay is the best, it’s mood also varies according to the moon and tide. The fifteen-minute hike to reach, though uphill, is wonderful and exciting.

If you are looking for moments of peaceful solitude whilst enjoying the sound and smell of the sea then you should be headed to this beautiful accommodation. The friendliness of the staff is apparent from the word go. I found the property to be ideally located right on the beach front, a very narrow strip of road being the only thing between your porch and the beach. You are surrounded by residents of the district affording you a genuine, on the ground Tobago experience complete with seine pulling and drinking beer at Carrington’s pub.

We spent 7 nights at Cholson Chalet and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The accommodations are quaint, charming and comfortable….and serve as a perfect setting in this quiet fishing village. You can get the feel of the entire town while sitting out on the balcony and watching the activities unfold during the day. We had an upper unit with ocean view, and it was lovely!
